Proposion N2N is a connector for integrating IBM Lotus Notes and Domino into Microsoft's .NET Framework. Proposion N2N is a native ADO.NET managed data provider that gives .NET developers very fast access to Notes / Domino data and services from any .NET application. Proposion N2N includes support for attachments, embedded images, full-text searches, encryption, mail, agents and much more.

Proposion N2N 1.1 is a powerful tool for integrating IBM Lotus Notes and IBM Lotus Domino into Microsoft's .NET Framework and Visual Studio.NET development tools. The award-winning Proposion N2N enables companies to fully leverage their investment in Lotus Notes and Domino in building new applications in Microsoft’s .NET environment. Companies that have selected .NET as their strategic application platform no longer need to abandon the robust collaborative services of IBM’s Domino products. N2N enables Domino developers to take immediate advantage of Microsoft .NET tools such as VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, Mobile Internet Toolkit, and .NET Web Services.

The enhancements in version 1.1 are primarily geared to .NET developers who need advanced Notes and Domino integration capabilities. For example, the ability for .NET applications to authenticate users using their Domino name and password has been improved. In addition, ASP.NET applications can now leverage Domino Single Sign-on that allow users to securely access both the Domino and .NET portions of their web site without having to log in repeatedly. Attachment handling has been greatly enhanced and it is now possible to write complete document management applications in .NET that store files in Notes/Domino databases. Numerous additional enhancements are included as well.

Proposion N2N provides a complete implementation of Microsoft’s ADO.NET managed data provider specification, the standard interface for accessing any database (for example, Microsoft SQL Server) from .NET applications. N2N is designed to be familiar to .NET developers and anyone who has programmed with relational databases. Developers can leverage the extensive .NET facilities for working with data connections while leveraging the unique features of the Notes / Domino platform such as agents, attachments, embedded images, multi-valued fields, parent/response relationships, full-text searches, view and folder indexes, encryption, mailing of documents and more.
