Proposion ASPEN is an IBM Lotus Domino add-in that allows organizations to run ASP.NET pages directly on Domino HTTP servers. ASPEN eliminates the need for Domino shops to install Microsoft IIS in order to deploy a wide range of ASP.NET based web, mobile and XML Web Services applications. ASP.NET applications can now leverage the world-class security and robustness that Domino provides.

Proposion ASPEN is a new tool that will allow organizations to run ASP.NET applications directly on IBM Lotus Domino servers, is now available for testing. Proposion ASPEN eliminates the need for Domino shops to install Microsoft’s Internet Information Server (IIS) or any other web server in order to build and deploy a wide range of ASP.NET-based Web applications, Mobile Applications, and XML Web Services. In addition, applications deployed with Proposion ASPEN can now leverage the world-class security and robustness that Domino provides.

ASP.NET, a part of Microsoft’s freely available .NET Framework, enables writing dynamic, high-performance Web applications, Mobile Applications, and XML Web Services. This platform features a very high degree of developer productivity as well as a hundreds of great server controls, such as data grids and charting components, available from Microsoft and third parties. With Proposion ASPEN, ASP.NET applications can run directly on the Domino server, side-by-side with native Domino applications.

Proposion ASPEN seamlessly integrates with Domino HTTP and SSL protocols and allows ASP.NET applications to take full advantage of Domino’s legendary security features such as authentication and access control. For example, web users can login once to securely access both ASP.NET and native Domino applications. Administrators can restrict access to ASP.NET apps using Domino names and groups or leverage Domino access control to restrict access to ASP.NET apps using Domino names and groups.
